Challenge
A major CPG company was launching a new shelf-stable meal kit and needed a manufacturer of the product line with the ability to assemble, carton, package, and ship the product.
This involved receiving WIP materials from the customer and combining them with the products manufactured at our site into the finished pack configurations.
Solution
During this time, I was the Plant Manager and given my engineering background, I was able to collaborate with the customer’s team of engineers. Together, we designed a semi-automatic delivery and packaging system.
I led the team from scope, design, installation, start-up, and follow-through for growth. Additionally, I was the point negotiator for the contract manufacturing agreement.
Outcome
Project was delivered on time and in budget. Based on our excellent performance, the customer renewed the contract for an additional 3 years after the initial contract period.
